IMMERVEIL has one contact address. Corrections, questions about an FMCSA record or a Census figure, and privacy requests all go to the same inbox, which reaches the IMMERVEIL Editorial Desk.
Corrections
If a page shows a figure, a date or a sentence you believe is wrong, send the page address, the exact figure or sentence, and the official source that shows otherwise: the Census table and the cell, or the USDOT number of the FMCSA record. The desk compares the page with the source file it was built from. If the page differs from the source, the page is corrected. If the page matches the source, the change has to happen at the source itself. A message never overwrites an official field on its own.
Moving companies and FMCSA records
Mover Check shows the FMCSA MCMIS Company Census File as FMCSA publishes it, queried live for every lookup. IMMERVEIL cannot edit a USDOT record, add a safety rating or remove a company. If your legal name, address or operating details are out of date, update them with FMCSA: carriers change their records by filing an MCS-150 series form, and FMCSA requires every entity it regulates to update its information every two years (FMCSA, Updating Your Registration or Authority). Once the change reaches the open-data census file, which FMCSA updates daily, the next lookup shows it.
Census migration figures
State-to-state figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau’s State-to-State Migration Flows: 2024 American Community Survey 1-Year Estimates (Table T13), released Jan 21, 2026. If a number on a page does not match the published table, send the page address with the origin and destination states, and the desk checks the ingested value against the workbook. A figure that matches the table but looks implausible is still a survey estimate with a 90% margin of error; it is published as the Census Bureau released it, with that margin shown beside it.
Privacy requests
IMMERVEIL has no accounts and keeps no visitor database. What the site remembers stays in your browser, and clearing this site’s data there removes it. A message you send to this address is kept only to answer it; ask, and it will be deleted. The privacy notice lists what is stored and where.
What the desk cannot answer
The desk cannot tell you whether a particular mover is trustworthy or the right choice, give legal advice about a claim or a dispute, or price a move. To report a moving company or broker, use FMCSA’s National Consumer Complaint Database, which accepts complaints against moving companies and brokers. FMCSA’s Protect Your Move pages explain the documents a mover asks you to sign and your rights if goods are lost or damaged.
